Abstract
The Badajoz Plan brought irrigation to Extremadura with the aim of solving historical and structural problems ina region full of agricultural labor, high levels of unemployment, a per capita income well below the national average,poor communications, little industrialization and with an unequal distribution of land mainly in the hands oflandowners. Consequently, a society with a subsistence economy and generally a low standard of living. Theimplementation of the Badajoz Plan needed people to execute it in the territory. Therefore, newly created localitieswere designed in which new neighbors were accommodated who had to adapt to a new way of life and they needed tointeract with other families to manage to create, after one or two generations, a collective consciousness of belongingto a village, their village.Downloads
