Abstract

The meadows are defined tree-covered rural areas delimited by man thousands of years ago, in which the pastures and woody species of the Quercus genus that produce acorns predominate; acorns are used as a food supplement for livestock. We intend to create a collective awareness about the importance of the conservation of these meadows and for the maintenance of the natural balance of a large part of the national territory, 3.9 million hectares in Spain, since they have economic and social significance, mainly in the Spanish southwest and Extremadura.
